Inclusive

My name is Caroline, and my pronouns are she/her. I am a licensed psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Alberta. Originally from Quebec, I lived and worked in England before returning to Montreal and eventually moving to Edmonton in 2014. I enjoy the community atmosphere of the city and appreciate the trails in the Saskatchewan River Valley every day. I earned my master's degree in counseling from City University of Seattle in Edmonton.

As a Registered Psychologist, I love working with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds, including older adults, and people who are a part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Supporting people who are experiencing trauma, grief and any number of challenging experiences is tremendously rewarding for me.

Providing a non-judgmental space for you to be your authentic self is at the heart of what I do. When needed, I’ll work with you to identify and address the root causes of your presenting concerns. I will also provide practical tools to apply immediately, while helping you move toward the change you are looking to achieve. I have completed the Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) Level 1 & 2 training and the Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) Externship. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and practices from a trauma-informed lens.

Therapeutic Approach

Building a therapeutic connection can help you process painful and challenging life experiences and, over time, bring clarity and direction to your life. I draw upon my training and experience to offer you a safe, non-judgmental space where we will work together and where you can move toward meeting your goals. My focus is on you, to accompany you on a sometimes frightening and confusing journey, with compassion and acceptance.

The basis of any successful psychotherapy is the relationship between client and counsellor. Trust is the core of such a potentially powerful relationship, and I work to build and deepen trust throughout the therapeutic journey. I take an integrated approach to psychotherapy, responding to clients' needs with the therapeutic approaches that align most closely to their situation and goals.

Reaching Out

If you feel we may be a good fit, please reach out and we can test the waters. A brief meeting will help you decide whether you would like to move forward or not. I commit to meet you with respect and warmth and answer your questions regarding how we might work together.

Teaching Psychology

In addition to my work with clients, I am passionate about teaching future counsellors through the Masters program I graduated from. I find that teaching not only deepens my understanding of the psychological principles I focus on, but also often brings fresh perspectives to my client work.

Downtime

When I’m not working, I love to enjoy the river valley trails with my pup Jackson. Or I’ll be with my partner discovering new restaurants and trying out different cuisines. Painting, cycling, gardening, kayaking, and traveling are also activities I try to make time for.

I believe everyone brings a different foundation of experience, and their own skills to counselling. I work to provide psychotherapy that fits you as an unique person.
